F/V Market Price, Hooked Up’s newest dockside resident, is responsible for the savory scallop dishes that you have been enjoying at our waterfront eatery. Fishing right out of Wildwood, the 54-foot commercial fishing vessel is a day scallop boat bound for the waters right off New Jersey. Frank Myers, Captain of F/V Market Price, successfully captains his crew to sustainably harvest these popular shellfish.
Most people don’t realize what a Scallop actually looks like. Scallops live inside of a saucer-shaped shell with ribbed edges. A scallop is a free-swimming mollusk that lives inside of a hinged shell. When shucked open, the part of the scallop that is typically cooked and eaten is the white circular meat, which is the large adductor muscle.
